Weekend Part Two: No Parking on the Dance Floor!

"I DID IT!" was what Preston exclaimed when the wedding party was leaving the sanctuary and I have never BEEN so relieved. You see, Preston Luke is a little ball of energy, and sitting still and being quiet are NOT his strongsuits. However, he proved me WAY wrong by being a little PRINCE at his second cousins' wedding last night :) Now, he did eat a bag of fruit loops, about 15 jelly beans and "colored" all over the prayer concern cards at the church...but HE DID IT!
Next, we headed over to the reception which was held at the ULM Library on the 7th floor. I have never been to a wedding reception there but it was really nice. Preston was literally comatose by the time we arrived, but that did not stop him from doing plenty of dancing--and CLOWNING---on the dance floor. He LOVED watching the college kids dance, and they were all cheering for him and taking his picture--it was just so cute!
Another bright note is that Jeff seems to be over the worst part of the pinkeye. Thanks goodness! I know how painful it can be.
Our kitchen/bath mini-remodel starts tommorow so I may be absent for a while. Hope you are having a great summer!!

Weekend, Part 1

All of the Parkers are just waking from a much needed Saturday afternoon nap-we have had a busy weekend so far so I thought I would take a second to post.....
We had a very special evening last night at my cousin Cole's Rehersal Dinner at Bayou DeSaird. I added a picture of the flowers because my Aunt Kristy is a very active member of the Monroe Garden Club and their flower additions really were just GORGEOUS! The food was delicious as well--they even used bounty from their own garden and it really made for a special meal....a good time was had by all :)
This morning, Jeff woke up with the PINKEYE, so Resa was kind enough to help me take Preston to the Peach Festival. Granted, I could have done it by myself, but an extra hand SURE IS NICE! It was pretty hot, so we didn't stay too terribly long, but we did attend the parade (can't you see the JOY on his face?), do some shopping, and of COURSE Preston had some Peach ice cream! We are all about to get ready for the wedding--keep your fingers crossed that Preston makes it through!!

Happy Fathers Day!

This one will be quick but I just wanted to let everyone know The Parker Family is still here! We are plenty busy, for sure, just not a lot of pics to share and we have been spending A LOT of time at the pool...
I did want to take this opportunity to thank all of the Fathers that have influenced both Jeff and my life. You see, I am pretty sure we both think there is no way we can do as well at providing and being an example as both our Fathers have done. All I can say is that I am eternally grateful, and count my blessings for the many generations before me who have laid the foundation for my life. I can only HOPE to continue the rich tradition of Love and Christ into which I was priviledged to have been born.
All our best to all you Dads out there!

My Little Fish!

I continue to be amazed at how many strides Preston makes every time we take him "Swimming!" We go to the pool I would say at least 4 of every 7 days...and Preston LOVES it! Just yesterday Preston was jumping off the edge of the pool into mommy's arms, and I would let his head go under water. Now, it took some getting used to, but by the end of the afternoon he was standing over me saying, "Ready, Set, GO!" He is also a BIG fan of going over to the waterfall, and I TOLD his Daddy he was creating a monster the first time he took him over there....HA!
We also enjoy getting so see a lot of our friends at the pool. Just last week Preston played with Shelby, Georgia, Kennedy, Landon and Cull-Cull! Good times with some sweet little kids.
Hope you are all settling in for a great summer!

Fun Summer Day

Since Mother's Day Out has been on a break these last weeks, there have been a lot of opportunites for Preston and I to spend QT together! We had a fun-filled day yesterday, and I just wanted to share some pics.
Because Preston is usually at MDO on Thursdays, I was excited to take him to story time at the public library. I didn't get a good shot in story time, but I did snap one of the impressive block tower he made before it got started. Maybe he will be a Survivor competitor one day.. those are some impressive stacking skills...
Then, after lunch and a LONG power nap, we headed to Shreveport to pick up his portrait that was FINALLY ready at Cowen. Well, it turns out that Nana and Pop were also in town, so after some shopping and Chick-fil-A, we all headed out to the duck pond. Preston had a BLAST!! You should have seen us all chasing after those ducks..I would bet it was pretty funny :) Needless to say, bedtime went off without a hitch, and we are now concentrating on getting ready for Daddy to come home TONIGHT! HOORAY! More later....
