Pool Playdate!

Preston is sleeping soundly right now after his BIG morning pool playdate! We joined, Mrs. Joanna and Georgia Dugdale, Mrs. Jodi and Hudson Wood, and Mrs. Amanda, Murphy, and Davis DeMoss out at Squire Creek for a couple hours of swimming, eating, and fun. These are the only pics I really got that turned out, and I hate we did not get more pics of the mommies, but at least I got some cute shots of the kiddos. Girls, we will have to do this again soon...this long nap is WONDERFUL! Have a great weekend!!

Look Who's Pulling Up!

Preston has been pulling up for a couple of weeks now, but I had not really documented that, so I thought I would snap a picture of him to do so!! He has figured out where Mommy and Daddy go in the house if we leave him. For instance, if we leave him in front of Baby Einstein and he hears my hair dryer, sure enough he will pop that little head around the corner to check out what is going on. He knows where we come in the back door, and knows the sound of the garage door means someone is coming in. Regretfully, he has also figured out that a babysitter coming to the front door means Mommy and Daddy are going somewhere....I guess that goes with the territory. The cutest thing that he is doing right now though is "high five!" He can totally do it, but only does it when he is good and ready :) We have a busy couple of days ahead and I will try to keep the blog updated. Love to all!

Family time in Winnfield

Although our reason for getting together was quite sad, we all enjoyed our time in Winnfield/Sikes last weekend. I really regret not bringing my camera to Sikes Sunday, because I did not get Preston's picture with his Daddy or his Grandfather. I will do better next year!! But, I did manage to snap a couple of pics on my phone. Pictured are Preston with Pops opening his Father's Day gift, with Nana and Mommy before Uncle Bill's funeral, and with Mrs. Lindsay and Caroline Smith. Now, off to go practice for the Peach Fest diaper derby!!!

Another Saint in Heaven

I am a little teary-eyed sitting at the computer tonight, but I really wanted to post this slide show as a small tribute to my uncle and the great man he was. We lost Bill Read, my mom's brother, this afternoon to a LONG bout with kidney cancer. Like I said in my earlier post, we all knew that his passing was eminent, but that still does not make losing him easier. He is truly in a better place now...looking down from Heaven. To say he will be missed is really not enough--our lives won't be the same without him. I wish I had some pictures at my house from when I was a little girl when we would set off to "Texas" on one of his horses, or lying on the floor discussing various details of high school life :) But I hope you can get an idea of how great of a man he was, and join me in saying a little prayer for his wife, children, grandchildren, and parents. Life if too short not to say I LOVE YOU!!

Shrimp Boilin'

It is late Saturday night and I just wanted to post a few quick shots from Kendal and Kevin's visit tonight! Preston stayed up late at his Resa's house last night--he took a THREE HOUR NAP today Resa, THANKS!--so he was not in the best of moods right before Kendal and Kevin arrived. BUT, true to his social nature, the minute company walks through the door Preston Luke turns on the CHARM. Shortly after their arrival, Kendal put Preston down for the night and we got to the business at hand...some HUGE Gulf shrimp Jeff brought back from Banking School. We boiled them on the back patio, and sat outside talking for a few hours. We all have a heavy heart, though, as my Uncle Bill has taken a bad turn and is really not doing well. I took Preston to see him last week and I am so glad that I did. Although we know GOD is in total control, it does not make the thought of losing him any easier. PLEASE say a prayer for him if you get a chance. More later....

Watching Golf with Daddy-Lazy Saturday Afternoon

We had a busy Saturday morning but now are all pretty worthless and are spending a lazy Saturday afternoon! Preston seems to be completely over whatever the "bug" he had yesterday morning was, and was up BRIGHT AND EARLY this morning so we decided to head to Pop's Blueberry Farm in Dubach. Together, we picked 2 gallons of berries! I wish we could have gotten more but carrying Preston in the Baby Bjorn is hard on the back--let me tell you! We have just been tooling around, and now Daddy and Jeff are enjoying some QT. Just in case you were wondering, my grandmother is out of the hospital, and doing just fine. Again, thanks for all your prayers. Happy Weekend!

Summer is HERE!

Well, summer is in full swing here at the Parker house! Jeff and I celebrated our 7 year wedding anniversary last weekend, and that is always our start of the summer season. Preston has started summer program at Temple Weekday, and we are LOVING our patio and pooltime!! Knowing the bearable weather won't last long, we are going to enjoy it as much as we can..........HAPPY SUMMER!
