I now pronounce you...

Jeff and I were so happy to help celebrate the wedding of Amanda Leblanc and Justin Janaskie this weekend in Jackson, MS. Amanda's parents, Dr. Paul and Mrs. Nancy, and my parents got to be close friends when the Leblanc's lived in Winnfield. I actually used to BABYSIT Amanda so it made me feel a little ancient that she got married yesterday!! At first, my family was concerned that I should not make the trip-just in case Preston were to arrive-but Amanda's brother Zach assured me that I was in good hands as he just finished his OB rotation in med school :) We stayed at the Old Capitol Inn in downtown Jackson, and were assigned to the Elvis suite. This room was a real conversation piece-complete with purple lamp shades trimmed in boa and green shag carpet! Jeff enjoyed spending some quality time with the king.......

OB visit of note.....

Preston, Jeff, and I had such an eventful day at the OB yesterday! Because I want to spare everyone the details, I will just say that Preston's head is facing downward and I am showing signs that this will be an easy delivery :) UNLESS, he comes before, which I am still not convinced he's not, Dr. Penebaker wants to induce me on Wednesday, August 20th!!! 33 more days.........Preston is still doing very well--which we got to SEE yesterday on the ultrasound. I never get tired of having them. He is over 5 lbs and is "way down low" to quote OB. (I have been telling everyone that!!) He even stuck out his tongue at us---very cute. My bags are packed and just can't wait to have some great news soon. Love to all!

Preston's Nursery

Even though Preston will most likely sleep in a cradle in our room when he is first born, we have his nursery all ready for him to arrive! Already, I find myself rocking in the chair imagining holding him :)

Showers of Love!

Wow! What a big weekend.......Preston had TWO baby showers!! Tiphanie Maxwell opened her beautiful home in Ruston on Saturday, and Mrs. Candace Tarver was the gracious hostess in Winnfield Sunday. Words can not describe how humbled I am to have such wonderful friends and family. I was so touched by the outpouring of love from everyone--I get teary just thinking about it (or maybe that is the hormones?) Special thanks to Amanda DeMoss, Shelly Fuqua, Jackie Grayson, Kristi Phillips, Kathleen Richard and Leslie Temple for helping out Saturday. Also to Carolyn Hanna, Lisa Price, Karen Shirley, and Lindsay Smith for their efforts on Sunday. Preston can not wait to get here and wear his new duds and play with his new toys..........
