More Beach....

I think it is pretty common for 11 month olds to not care for the waves and ocean very much, but as you can see Preston made the best of it hanging out in his baby pool! Thanks so much to the people who suggested we bring one for him to play in--it was a LIFESAVER! I didn't get that many good pictures from my disposable camera because I took it in the water and it got wet....at least it wasn't my good camera. But, hopefully, you can get the idea :) Happy week!

Family Beach Trip!

I was so glad that Nana, Pops, Aunt Kendal, and Kevin were able to make our vacation very special this year! We had a great family trip to Orange Beach last week, and Preston was a TROOPER! He did not care much for the ocean, but loved his baby pool sitting under the umbrella and the regular swimming pool. He slept very well while we were there, but everyone else was not quite used to our early hour of waking....
All the pictures I took on the beach are still in a disposable camera that I am trying to take up, so hopefully I will have some of those to post soon.

Makeshift walker

I actually have not bought Preston a "walker" because I have read they are not recommended at this time. (I am sure that could change in 5 years!) But anyway, we got Preston a car dvd player, and decided to save the box because he was so interested in it. Well, I am sure glad we did--he is using it as a WALKER!! So now his favorite toys are a box, a cool-whip container, and a meat mallet :) We are beach bound Saturday and I will try to post while I am there from my iPhone but if I don't there will be a lot to report when we get back I am sure..happy day!

One Last Peach Fest Entry....

Well, I know this blog has gone a little Peach Fest crazy...but I could not resist posting one of the pics I entered into the photo contest. Now, Preston was really excited about these peaches, and hardly any of them made it home without bite marks! We had a blast. I want to say thanks again to Julia and Kevin for going the extra mile in getting this one in by the deadline.....more later :)

Newspaper debut!

Even though I realize that the scanning of this picture leaves much to be desired in quality, I just HAD to document Preston's Ruston Daily Leader Debut! I wish you could see the picture in person--I will keep it of course if you would like to!-because the look on his face is just PRICELESS! So happy! His name was not listed in the following story...but Jeff was bombarded yesterday morning with all of the people that had seen the pic. Anyway, I just had to share. More later....

Preston's First Boat Ride!

We were all very excited to be guests at the Neal Walpole lakehouse at D'Arbonne this weekend! We had a great time with Amanda and Todd, JoAnna and Bart, and Holly and Max....and of COURSE all the kids! Preston especially enjoyed his first boat ride :) He wasn't the biggest fan of the life-vest type swimsuit...but you gotta do it!! Hope everyone had a great weekend, Love, Shelley

Peach Fest Diaper Derby

Mommy and Daddy were SO PROUD of Preston's big athletic debut today for the Peach Fest Diaper Derby! The Trinity Center was FILLED with babies this morning and it was great to see all of our friends :) It was also very special to have Resa, Nana, Pop, and Mrs. Sally to cheer Preston on. Now, for the results! Preston won his first heat!!! I was so proud of him. He fizzled out in the semi-finals, but we had a BLAST! Now, off to the lake......
