MyHeritage: Look-alike Meter - Free family websites - Family tree research
I copied this meter off The Lane's blog and although I agree that Knox is a PERFECT mix of Lenzie and Clay, I do not see where Preston looks ANYTHING like me at this time. It would be interesting to see the results of other people's children--it only takes a few minutes if you have the time :) Anyway, I thought this was fun!

Thanks Mrs. Sarah!
Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to Mrs. Sarah Pullin for coming over today to help me take a picture for Preston's birth announcement! I have been trying for, well, 5 weeks and have not been successful. Mrs. Sarah has a photography background and had some great tips. Can't wait to see the finished product.....

Mesmerized
If I were a better photographer, you could see how completely mesmerized Preston is by his new mobile! It is so amazing how much more alert he is today than even a week ago. On the stomach issue front, Dr. Slusher called Preston in some Levsin drops Friday and we tried them for the first time today and THEY WORKED! Gone were the screams and leg kicks we had just learned to deal with. He was so calm Jeff thought there was something wrong with him. However, he is just fine and we are SO GRATEFUL to have something in our "arsenal" that works when we hit maximum frustration point :)

I love to swaddle!
Preston Luke LOVES to swaddle in his blankets Mrs. Shelley in Las Vegas sent us! When we first got him home, we thought he was getting to hot all wrapped up but now he just about will not lie down without his cuddly blanket. We all had a pretty crazy Saturday but I am happy to report a 5 hour sleep session last night-FABULOUS! Ruston looks to have dodged a bullet from IKE and I hope everyone weathered the storm well. Have a great week :)

Trip to Pediatrician
Preston Luke had to make a quick trip to see Dr. Slusher this morning. All is well, he was having some bleeding from his belly button. Just some granuloma tissue, the Dr. said, and she treated with silver nitrate. She went ahead and did his 1 month visit since we were there--and are you ready for this? Preston is already 9 lbs and 14 ounces!!! He is only three weeks and two days old and has gained two lbs--he has also grown to 21 3/4 inches (which I think is a low measurement as his leg was not fully extended.) These measurements put him in the 75th percentile. We are all doing well around here. I think Jeff actually has it the worst as he really only took three days off and also has been working on his Graduate School of Banking projects on the weekends. Hopefully, we can all get caught up on sleep soon. Preston sleeps for good 3 1/2 hour sometimes 4 hour streches at night so I can not complain. Well, I hear him crying for me so I must go.......

Saturday morning with Dad
I thought this was a precious picture of Preston-he loves to sleep on his daddy's shoulder.
As we come to the end of Preston's second week of life, here is a list of some of his likes and dislikes:
LIKES:
chewing on his hands
the vibrator feature on the pack-n-play
mom's left side
DISLIKES:
NOT being held
bathtime
baby swing
His eyes are getting browner every day, and as best we can tell he is going to be right handed as he tends to grasp more with that hand. (I finally took his gloves off-he still scratches his face but he couldn't wear them FOREVER!) We are getting some sleep as we tag team his night feedings (dad takes first, I take second). He still has some stomach issues but I have about determined they have nothing to do with what I am eating. If they don't clear up soon I will call the pediatrician-or he may have a sensitive tummy like his dad. Anyway, love to all and hope your fall is off to a great start.
