Weekend in Baton Rouge

It was such a treat to be able to visit Jeff this weekend in Baton Rouge! Driving down Friday and coming back today made for a tiring road trip--but was TOTALLY worth it! I'm sure people will ask what we did this weekend, and really all I can say is eat and sleep :) Jeff has not been feeling well, so a couple of days of rest where definitely what he needed. We did have a wonderful dinner Saturday night at Mansur's (of course I had to take a picture!), and I even got to go see Jeff's apartment and meet his banking school roomies, Henry and Tom. And lastly, I have to thank Resa again for making this possible--Preston was in SUCH a great mood when I picked him up this evening. I think he is on the mend so hopefully all the Parker's will be well soon....Happy Memorial Day!

HAPPY 9 MONTHS, PRESTON

This sounds really cliche, but I truly can't believe it has been 9 months since my precious angel arrived! We went to see Dr. Slusher yesterday for his check-up and had a couple of surprises in store. The first was that he has not gained any weight and has gotten 4 inches taller--down to the 75th percentile for height and weight. We may get to wear those 12M clothes some this summer after all! The other surprise was an infection in his right ear :( I had NO IDEA! He was not running fever and he plays with his ears all the time! Anyway, once I got over the guilt of not knowing and thinking he picked it up at Mother's Day Out, which is not even in session right now, I feel much better and he does too!
I added some snapshots from my phone from our last few days at home. (It is just more handy than the camera sometimes...) He is crawling pretty well now, still not pretty, but gets the job done! And, of course, he is super inquisitive about everything he can get his hands on. Hopefully, Jeff will help me with the childproofing of cabinets when he gets home. HAPPY 9 MONTHDAY, Preston!
And lastly, thanks for your prayers for my Gran! She is doind much better and is scheduled to come home as soon as they get her INR stable (measure of blood "thickness"). God has really had his hand on her and for that I am SO grateful :)

Bye bye Daddy! We will miss you :)

I am not sure if Daddy will be checking the blog while he is at "Banking School," but I thought we would send him a little farewell message in case he does! Preston and I are going to miss him SO MUCH these next two weeks!! I am going to make a trip down to see him next weekend (THANKS RESA!) and will return Sunday as his classes start back up ON Memorial Day!! On a serious note, please keep my grandmother in your prayers. She had a knee replacement last Tuesday, and was recovering well, until she developed some blood clots and has now been placed in ICU at Highland in Shreveport. Also, please keep my Mom and Kendal in your prayers as they are shouldering the burden of caretaker round the clock at the hospital. Love to all :)

Preston LOVES Temple WEEKDAY!

Preston has had so much fun in his MDO class with Ms. Edna and Ms. Rahel!! They made the cutest little scrapbook for his last day today, and although all of the pics are funny I love this one with all of the kids in the cart! Preston has changed so much in these 4 months, and I have to think that a lot of his milestones have been acheived from being around such sweet children and great teachers! Oh, did I mention Preston is crawling now!! Honestly, I have never felt more blessed than I did today flipping through the pictures--all the while smiling and laughing at my baby boy. Thanks again to everyone at Temple who have made us feel SO WELCOME :)

Happy Mother's Day!

Although I am not usually one to be indecisive, for the life of me I could not pick just one picture to post from today so I posted them ALL! The Parker's met up with the Cole's in Winnfield this morning for church, and a yummy lunch!! Preston did not get much of a nap but did get in some QUALITY playtime with Nana, Pops, and Aunt Kendal....we even had some FORWARD crawling motion! Oh my goodness....here it comes :) We couldn't get many smiles out of Preston today, but I do love his expressions because to me they almost say "yep, I've got these people wrapped!" And you know what, he is RIGHT! I am thankful not just today, but every day, for the Christian women that have influenced my life, mostly my own mother. God is so GOOD!

First trip to the Pool!

Well, it's official!! Preston Luke is going to be a pool bum like his mommy!! As part of my Mother's Day, Jeff insisted that I go to the pool at Squire Creek for a couple of hours by myself....HEAVEN! Then, after 2:00 when the worst of the rays were over and nap was done, Preston joined me in the pool while daddy went to hit some range balls. Preston LOVED the pool! I was twirling him around, and floated him through the whole pool for 30 minutes. He was enthralled with the other kids, too--that's why he's not really looking at the camera in the pictures!! He's exhausted now, especailly after our trip to Resa's to deliver her Mom's day happy. Oh, and for all of you that know how terrified I was of it, the swim diaper worked out just fine.........I better not jinx myself though!! Happy Mother's Day to everyone!!

Helping Mommy in the Kitchen!

Well, I have always heard that kids like the darndest things as toys, but now have my own example. Presont LOVES the wooden meat mallet (sp?) and will play with it for an HOUR! I am not kidding. Some days that's what I give him and sit him down by me while I eat lunch :) I took this pic tonight while I was starting dinner and Preston was having a BLAST! It is on our list to do this weekend to get a new camera, so I hope to have some better shots soon. More later.....
