Kickin' Wheels!

First of all, I apologize for the quality of this picture as Jeff took it from his Blackberry! But, I could not RESIST posting this shot of Preston in his new "car!" He LOVED going for a ride, and instintively was holding onto the steering wheel. Jeff and I can not wait for some warmer days to really get him out in it this week-hope you have a great one!

My New Trick

Preston has a new trick! Nana has seen him do it, but I guess no one else has. He can stand and hold on to the side of his crib. Of course, I PUT him there and position his hands, but he can stand there for a good while. He is still not crawling yet, nor does he express much interest in crawling, but most of you with kids tell me be careful what you wish for.......more later!

Shamrock 5K Run

I am so grateful to Nancy for getting our "group" together this morning to run the KD Shamrock 5K out at Lincoln Parish Park. Pictured are Katie Clark, Robyn Brown, me, Ashley Allen, Valerie Costanza and Nancy Hunt. Ashley's and Nancy's husbands, Grayson and Trotter were also running on our "team!" And, of course, Jeff, Cullen, Cary, and ALL the kiddos were in tow. I will not tell you my finish time, as I was REALLY hoping to do much better, but (caution, here comes an excuse!) the course was EXTREMELY hilly and I am used mostly flat so that definitely was a factor. On a positive note, Preston LOVED hanging out in his stroller at the park and it was a great family outing for us all!

Happy St. Pat's!

I know none would be surprised that I had Preston dressed in green for his day at Mother's Day Out! We have been so blessed that Temple had a spot for Preston Luke and I am reminded of that each time I see him there. Today, as another little girl was leaving, Preston waved bye-bye to her!! I thought it was a fluke at first until he waved again to his teachers as we were leaving....AMAZING! Anyway, hope your week is going well and you didn't get pinched today :)

First Tooth

Just a quick post to document a milestone in Preston's life! This morning when we were getting ready for church we noticed his bottom left tooth has just barely poked through. I apologize for not having a picture to post, but quite frankly Preston has NOT been all smiles this weekend :( It is so hard for me to see him in pain and I am praying that we are almost over this one at least..........Have a great week!

Adventures with the Sippy Cup

Yesterday, Preston and I stayed inside ALL DAY because I just did not want to get him out in the cold, rainy weather. In the late afternoon, he started his little cough that he does that I am not convinced isn't for attention. However, I had been thristy from being cooped up all day so I thought maybe he was too. So---I got out the sippy cup. Well, let's just say I won't be trying that again anytime soon!! Don't get me wrong, he greatly enjoyed playing with it. But there was much more water on the floor than in his mouth :) It was fun to watch him with it though......

Bowling with The Journey

What a difference a couple of years make! Jeff and I went bowling last night with our Sunday School class, called The Journey, and could not get over how much the Lambright had changed since our college days. The bowling alley is where the old raquetball courts used to be and the shoe station replaced the old women's weight room. (Which actually makes me sad because I LOVED the private women's weight room!!) Anyway, the lanes where SO NICE and we had a great time with some great people. Well, except for the fact that I am THE WORST bowler....

Too much fun..........

Sometimes I put Preston upstairs in his jumparoo when I am trying to get something done. Last evening, I was downstairs making dinner, and Jeff came home and asked what Preston was doing. Since I had not heard him in a while--no crying is always good!--I asked Jeff to go check on him....and this is what we found!! Those of you who have ever spent any time with Preston know that his falling asleep does not EVER happen easily, so that makes this shot even funnier :) Enjoy!

Congratulations Leslie!

Jeff and I made a quick trip to Shreveport last night to celebrate the engagement and approching marriage of one of the most precious girls I know, Leslie Temple. She and her fiance, Ryan Horvath, plan to wed in Hawaii in May. The party was held in her parents beautiful Southern Trace home. We most appreciate Gran-Gran and Grandfather for keeping Preston this weekend so that we were able to attend. Now, if we could just get that hour of sleep back :) Happy day!

Ad for Kevin Hawkins Photography

I am so grateful that I am able to post my precious pictures taken by Kevin Hawkins. I know I said I would be absent from the blogsphere, but could not RESIST posting this shot taken at 6 months. To make it even more special, Preston is wearing an outfit his Aunt Kendal gave him. Isn't he just a doll??? I ordered a laughing shot that was really cute as well--but there is just something about this serious look that is so angelic.....

Clothes are for the Birds!

Thankfully, it is about to be Spring because Preston is MOST happy when he wears nothing but his diaper!!! Jeff and I had a ball with him tonight--these pictures were taken as I had taken off his daytime clothes and was about to put on his jammies. He was talking up a storm and holding on to the side of the pack-n-play to steady himself--tonight is the first time I have seen him understand that his hands holding on could keep him from falling back. He sure is getting fun.....

Beautiful Sunday Morning

It is amazing how quickly days go by that are busy doing little things--nothing altogether that interesting but busy all the same :) Where do I start? It is Sunday afternoon and Aunt Kendal just left from her overnight stay. We were all so glad she came to visit, and especially enjoyed the caramel pecan pie she brough from Julie Ann's! Preston Luke lights up when he sees her! I judged the Miss Minden pageant last night so Jeff got to spend some time with Preston. Friday night Jeff and I went on a date so see "Slumdog Millionaire" which was surprisingly good-funny, suspenseful, and heartwarming all at the same time. And thankfully, my mammogram last Monday was completely normal. Praise the Lord! I am working a lot next week (3 days) because Tech is on quarter break and it is really easy for me to work then because of the abundance of babysitting help. So, I will probably be absent from the blogsphere for most of next week but hope you all have a great one!
